Privacy Policy
Mindscape is made by FireUp Lab, LLC (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what the Mindscape app and mindscapeapp.com collect, why, and the choices you have. We wrote it in plain words. If anything is unclear, email hello@mindscapeapp.com.
The short version
- We collect what the app needs to work: your account, a few answers you give during setup, your daily check-ins and your progress.
- There are no ads in the app, and we don’t sell your personal information.
- You can delete your account and its data in the app at any time.
What we collect in the app
Your account. Your email address and, if you give it, your name. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we get the email (or Apple’s private relay address) and name they share with us. If you sign up with email, we store your password in a protected (hashed) form.
Answers from setup. Your age range, gender, how you heard about Mindscape, your timezone, and an invite code if you used one. We use these to set up your plan and understand who uses the app.
Daily use. Your mood check-ins, the focus you pick each day, which stories, audios, challenges and lessons you finish, your streak, quiz answers and the cards and progress you earn. This is how the app shows your streak, orbs, passport and week, and keeps them when you change phones.
Feedback. Anything you send us through the app’s feedback or rating prompts.
Notifications. If you allow notifications, a push token from Firebase Cloud Messaging so we can send your daily reminder. You can turn reminders off in the app or in your phone’s settings.
Purchases. Subscriptions are handled by Apple or Google. We never see your card details. Our subscription provider, RevenueCat, tells the app whether your subscription is active, using an anonymous app user ID and your store purchase records.
Kept only on your phone. Some things never leave your device, such as your screen-time answer from setup and your answers to “did you try today’s challenge?”.
What we collect on this website
The website has no accounts, no forms and no advertising or tracking cookies. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits without cookies and without identifying you. Our host, Cloudflare, also processes standard request data (like IP address and browser type) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
How we use it
- To run the app: your account, daily content, streaks, progress and reminders.
- To improve Mindscape: understanding which content and features people use.
- To talk to you: replies to your emails and important messages about your account.
- To keep things safe and follow the law.
We don’t use your information for advertising, and we don’t sell or rent it.
Who helps us run Mindscape
We share data only with service providers that help us run the app, under contracts that limit how they can use it:
- Heroku (Salesforce): hosts our servers and database.
- Google Firebase: delivers push notifications.
- RevenueCat: checks subscription status.
- Apple and Google: sign-in, app distribution and payments.
- Cloudflare: hosts this website and counts visits.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or as part of a merger or sale of the business, in which case this policy would still apply to your data.
How long we keep it
We keep your account data while your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete your personal data from our systems, except where we must keep something by law (for example, records of a support request).
Your choices and rights
- See or change your details: in the app under Settings, Name & email.
- Delete your account: in the app, open Settings and tap Delete account. This permanently removes your account, check-ins and progress.
- Ask a question or make a request: email hello@mindscapeapp.com. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or move your data, or to object to how we use it. We’ll answer within 30 days.
Children
Mindscape isn’t meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, email us and we’ll delete it.
Security
We use encrypted connections and limit who can access data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and fix problems quickly.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. For important changes, we’ll tell you in the app.
